BDIX stands for Bangladesh Internet Exchange. BDIX is the first IXP (Internet Exchange Point) of Bangladesh. An Internet exchange point (IX or IXP) is the physical infrastructure through which Internet service providers (ISPs) and content delivery networks (CDNs) exchange Internet traffic between their networks (autonomous systems).

BDIX is an Internet Exchange Point (IX or IXP) of Bangladesh which is the physical infrastructure through which Internet service providers (ISPs) Bangladesh and content delivery networks (CDNs) exchange Internet traffic between their networks. BDIX is a not-for-profit venture of the Sustainable Development Networking Foundation (SDNF) Bangladesh. Throughout its existence, BDIX has maintained leadership of the fast-developing Internet industry of Bangladesh by providing high-quality services that provided fast, cost-effective and efficient Internet connections for members and their customers.

BDIX বাংলাদেশের একটি ইন্টারনেট ডাটা বিনিময়কারী সিস্টেম (আইএক্স বা আইএক্সপি) বা অবকাঠামো যার মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশের ইন্টারনেট সেবা প্রদানকারী (আইএসপি) সংস্থাওগুলো এবং কনটেন্ট ডেলিভারি নেটওয়ার্কগুলি (সিডিএন) তাদের নেটওয়ার্কের মধ্যে ইন্টারনেট ট্র্যাফিক বিনিময় করে। BDIX বাংলাদেশের সংস্থা SDNF (সাসটেইনেবল ডেভেলপমেন্ট নেটওয়ার্কিং ফাউন্ডেশন) এর একটি অলাভজনক উদ্যোগ। BDIX প্রতিষ্ঠার মূল উদ্দেশ্য হলো, এই সংস্থার সদস্যদের মধ্যে সরাসরি অবকাঠামোগত সংযোগ স্থাপন করা যার মাধ্যমে দ্রুত গতিতে ও স্বল্প খরচে এর সদস্যরা ও তাদের গ্রাহকেরা লোকাল কন্টেন্ট ভাগাভাগি বা বিনিময় করতে পারেন।
History of BDIX
Since 2004, BDIX has been working to improve Internet infrastructure in Bangladesh by supporting the intercommunication between different ISPs in the country. It also assists its development in several ways. The conception of BDIX began when some pioneering ISPs of Bangladesh (BDCOM Online Ltd, ISN, BOL, Link3 Technologies Ltd, AccessTEL etc) intended to link their networks together to save the cost and time delay (latency) involved in routing data across themselves. Due to lack of technical knowledge of setting up of an IXP and sufficient financial support the task was not easy and challenging too. At that time all parties indicated a willingness to join in, and the idea of establishing BDIX came in to being.
BDIX Servers
BDIX servers are hosted by BDIX members. BDIX Enabled ISP List is available at the end of this article. Users of the BDIX member ISP can easily access to the BDIX servers. Every member ISP (Internet Service Provider) has permitted our ISP users to their content. From BDIX Server users can download content several times faster than their normal internet speed. Because users are connected to the BDIX Server as local connection due to BDIX Network Infrastructure.
